NATO in Afghanistan - Operation Dragon Strike
Afghan and US troops are involved in a major operation to drive the Taliban out of districts surrounding Kandahar. Some of the fighting has been taking place in Zahri, an area north of the city. This video shows Afghan and US troops on patrol in Operation Dragon Strike and returning fire as they assault through a possible ambush, and sweep the area of Taliban. The US troops are from the 2nd Platoon, C Company, 2nd of the 502nd, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, the Afghan soldiers are from the 205th Corps.

Libya rebels 'confused' as strike kills 13, more dead in Gaddafi attacks
Pro-Gaddafi forces in Libya are attempting to recapture the country's third largest city, Misrata. It's the last rebel stronghold left in the west, and has been under attack for weeks. Scores killed in Nato air strike in Afghanistan - 4 Sept 09
A Nato air strike is said to have killed between 70 and 130 people in the Afghan province of Kunduz. Nato say they targeted Taliban fighters who had seized two fuel tankers. Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from a nearby village, where locals say many of the killed were civilians.

An investigation is under way after a NATO air strike on fuel tankers hijacked by the Taliban killed scores in northern Afghanistan. Video of Libyan rebels preparing to clash with Gaddafi forces
Rebel soldiers in eastern Libya continued to prepare on Tuesday for a possible showdown with forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. In Ajdabiya, 150 kilometres (about 93 miles) southwest of Benghazi and close to the front line with Gadhafi loyalists, militia volunteers test fired anti-aircraft weapons and mounted road checks on traffic arriving from the west of the country. Journalists were taken to an abandoned Libyan munitions depot nearby, which rebels say has been a target of Gadhafi jet fighter bombing raids in recent days. The Persian Gulf War or Gulf War (also known as the mother of all battles August 1990 28 February 1991)[7][8] was a conflict between Iraq and a coalition force from 34 nations[9] authorized by the United Nations (UN) but led primarily by the United States and the United Kingdom in order to return Kuwait to the control of the Emir of Kuwait. The conflict developed in the context of the IranIraq War and in 1990 Iraq accused Kuwait of stealing Iraq's oil through slant drilling.[10] The invasion of Kuwait by Iraqi troops was met with immediate economic sanctions against Iraq by some members of the UN Security Council, and with immediate preparation for war by the United States of America and the United Kingdom. The expulsion of Iraqi troops from Kuwait began in January 1991 and was a decisive victory for the coalition forces, which took over Kuwait and entered Iraqi territory. Aerial and ground combat was confined to Iraq, Kuwait, and bordering areas of Saudi Arabia. Iraq also launched missiles against targets in Saudi Arabia and Israel in retaliation for their support of the invading forces in Kuwait. Since the IranIraq War of 198088 had been called the "Persian Gulf War" by many news sources, the 1991 war has sometimes been called the "Second Persian Gulf War", but more commonly, the 1991 war is styled simply the "Gulf War" or the "First Gulf War", in distinction from the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[11] "Operation Desert Storm" was the coalition name of the air and land operations and is often used to refer to the conflict.
