15 US Marines Killed in Iraq Attack

The war in Afghanistan is on it's 9th year. In 2009 alone, 670 american soldiers were killed both in Iraq and Afghanistan, making this the deadliest year in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001. Obama is now increasing the number of troops, possibly extending the war for up to 10 more years. When is it going to be enough lives and resources lost? [LIBYA] Plane Shot Down by Rebels in Eastern Libya, F24 06.03.2011

http://www.france24.com/en/20110306-heavy-gunfire-rocks-libya-tripoli-gaddafi-rebels-fighting? Casualties: Estimates of deaths in the 2011 Libyan uprising have varied from 1,000 to 6,500 dead. The numbers have been hard to come by since a media clamp-down by the government. However, some conservative estimates have been released. On February 22, the International Coalition Against War Criminals gave an estimate that 519 people had died, 3,980 were wounded and over 1,500 were missing. Human Rights Watch have estimated that at least 233 people had been killed by February 22. On February 23, Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini stated that according to his information 1,000 people had died so far. On February 25, Navi Pillay, the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, said that reports indicated that "thousands may have been killed or injured". Among the security forces there had been more than 325 dead, including government loyalists, mercenaries and rebel soldiers. There have been many reports that members of the security forces have been killed by both the government and the opposition. On February 18, two policemen were hanged by protesters in Benghazi. Also, on the same day, 50 African mercenaries, mostly from Chad, were executed by the protesters in al-Baida. Some of them were killed when protestors burned down the police station in which they locked them up and at least 15 were lynched in front of the courthouse in al-Baida. The bodies of some of them were put on display and caught on video. By February 23, the government confirmed that 111 soldiers had been killed. On February 24, the IFHR said that 130 soldiers had been executed in Benghazi and al-Baida, after they mutinied and sided with the protesters. . Amazing Egypt Protest Violence footage in downtown Cairo filmed by Americans 28th Jan 2011 (1of2 HD)

Please share this video with as many people as possible. I think we were guided by a higher power that day to capture this video, as it was by accident that we ended up in this area when the train we boarded went the wrong way. There are additional videos after this one where the government thugs, dressed in plain clothes, clear the streets by beating people with sticks and a man pleads with the Police. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqUf94amrdg We stayed in Cairo before the Jan 25th violence broke out and came to respect and love the Egyptian people. Many Americans have a fear for this part of the world, however it is mostly caused by the media and politicians back home. Egyptians are the some of the most friendly, warm, and hospitable people I have ever met. The country of Egypt is very beautiful and some of the people here will invite you into their homes, even though you are a stranger. Once peace is restored with a government that cares for the common Egyptian, more Americans and Europeans should visit Egypt. This violence and protest is not about Muslims or Christians, it's not about Police being the good guys, it's not about angry young teens. It's about people wanting to be able to feed their kids, government cover ups, and too much energy that goes into controlling people instead of empowering them to make their community better. I found a postcard picture in Google Earth at Tahrir square from 1970 and the Egyptian city looks beautiful, smog free, and very clean. Since then, the people struggle on a dollar or two a day as prices have slowly risen and the infrastructure appears to be crumbling along with very bad air pollution. Everywhere you go, bribes will get you anywhere or out of anything in Egypt. It has become a way of life to supplement your income, because without these tips, you wouldn't have a roof over your head or food on the table. Below is an interview with a college educated Egyptian professional who welcomed us into him home with open arms to share his opinion. He claimed to not be political, but his message was so powerful that I transcribed it for those who might want to learn more about the real situation. As a side note, please feel free to re-distribute, broadcast, link, or share these videos as long as it is not for commercial use without permission. Any money collected from commercial publication will be donated to food organizations in Egypt to help feed the people in dire need. Higher resolution stills are available for news agencies. Interview below recorded with an Egyptian professional while fighting ensued and gun shots could be heard just outside his window: (American) So what do you think of what's going on here? (Young Egyptian Professional) I think this (proves of) using one ruler is just too much. They say it's Democracy, but it's one party ruling (over) the Parliament. There's some stuff going down there. We need the change. We need (a lot of) parties. We need another democracy to come up with the society. We need some people to interact with the political life, not just the ruling family for 30 years and now president Mubarak wants his son to be the next ruler. President Obama just came up and talked about this situation that we talked about, that the Egyptian government should take some critical moves (on) to improvements, in robbing the people and what they need and the policy of Mubarak must change to concentrate more on the interior issues, not on the exterior issues. To concentrate more about the people and their needs, and the low standard people. The people that their annual income will not exceed 1000 US Dollars. There are some people that in a lot of places here doesn't have water, doesn't have electricity. Ahh....those are the peoples that we are protesting too (for). Those are the people we are speaking too. I already have a house, I'm already working in a multi-national company, so I don't need this revolution anyway, but I'm out there, risking my ass to take my word up to the government and tell them that there's people that need you to listen. That you need to listen to them. That you need to respond to them.

Libya - Fighter Jets Ordered To Fire On Protesters - Air Force Commanders Defect !!!

Libya - Fighter Jets ordered to Fire On Protesters - Air Force Commanders Defect !!! Libya made good on its threats to get bloody today, sending fighter jets to fire on protesters in Tripoli, Al Jazeera reports, though it cautions that reports are difficult to verify because Libyan intelligence has shut down all landline and wireless communications. But two military pilots seem to confirm the story: They landed in Malta, declaring that they'd been ordered to bomb protesters, but had refused to do so and defected instead. Security forces on the ground are also reportedly using live ammunition, and witnesses told Al Jazeera that at least 61 have been killed today. Despite the crackdown, protesters say they're gaining momentum, and have captured several key towns, including Benghazi. The country's justice minister has also reportedly resigned in protest over the deadly force being used against demonstrators, as have several ambassadors. Meanwhile, Britain's foreign secretary said he had intelligence that Moammar Gadhafi himself had fled to Venezuela, but Venezuela denied the report. libya gadaffi libian lybia protest portesters fire air force jet fighters ordered upon protester colonel defects commanders political asylum 2011 update breaking news mainstream media middle east revolution food inflation riots world wide global uprising
