Amazing Egypt Protest Violence footage in downtown Cairo filmed by Americans 28th Jan 2011 (1of2 HD)
Please share this video with as many people as possible. I think we were guided by a higher power that day to capture this video, as it was by accident that we ended up in this area when the train we boarded went the wrong way. There are additional videos after this one where the government thugs, dressed in plain clothes, clear the streets by beating people with sticks and a man pleads with the Police. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqUf94amrdg We stayed in Cairo before the Jan 25th violence broke out and came to respect and love the Egyptian people. Many Americans have a fear for this part of the world, however it is mostly caused by the media and politicians back home. Egyptians are the some of the most friendly, warm, and hospitable people I have ever met. The country of Egypt is very beautiful and some of the people here will invite you into their homes, even though you are a stranger. Once peace is restored with a government that cares for the common Egyptian, more Americans and Europeans should visit Egypt. This violence and protest is not about Muslims or Christians, it's not about Police being the good guys, it's not about angry young teens. It's about people wanting to be able to feed their kids, government cover ups, and too much energy that goes into controlling people instead of empowering them to make their community better. I found a postcard picture in Google Earth at Tahrir square from 1970 and the Egyptian city looks beautiful, smog free, and very clean. Since then, the people struggle on a dollar or two a day as prices have slowly risen and the infrastructure appears to be crumbling along with very bad air pollution. Everywhere you go, bribes will get you anywhere or out of anything in Egypt. It has become a way of life to supplement your income, because without these tips, you wouldn't have a roof over your head or food on the table. Below is an interview with a college educated Egyptian professional who welcomed us into him home with open arms to share his opinion. He claimed to not be political, but his message was so powerful that I transcribed it for those who might want to learn more about the real situation. As a side note, please feel free to re-distribute, broadcast, link, or share these videos as long as it is not for commercial use without permission. Any money collected from commercial publication will be donated to food organizations in Egypt to help feed the people in dire need. Higher resolution stills are available for news agencies. Interview below recorded with an Egyptian professional while fighting ensued and gun shots could be heard just outside his window: (American) So what do you think of what's going on here? (Young Egyptian Professional) I think this (proves of) using one ruler is just too much. They say it's Democracy, but it's one party ruling (over) the Parliament. There's some stuff going down there. We need the change. We need (a lot of) parties. We need another democracy to come up with the society. We need some people to interact with the political life, not just the ruling family for 30 years and now president Mubarak wants his son to be the next ruler. President Obama just came up and talked about this situation that we talked about, that the Egyptian government should take some critical moves (on) to improvements, in robbing the people and what they need and the policy of Mubarak must change to concentrate more on the interior issues, not on the exterior issues. To concentrate more about the people and their needs, and the low standard people. The people that their annual income will not exceed 1000 US Dollars. There are some people that in a lot of places here doesn't have water, doesn't have electricity. Ahh....those are the peoples that we are protesting too (for). Those are the people we are speaking too. I already have a house, I'm already working in a multi-national company, so I don't need this revolution anyway, but I'm out there, risking my ass to take my word up to the government and tell them that there's people that need you to listen. That you need to listen to them. That you need to respond to them.

Tsunami Hits Thailand & South East Asia!
Dedicated to all 2004 December 26th Boxing Day Tsunami Victims, families, those injured, and those otherwise affected. The terrible devastation and the aftermath of this catastrophe caught on tape. The 2004 Boxing Day tsunami was triggered by an earthquake off the north-west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It killed 230,000 people in a dozen Indian Ocean countries, 170,000 of them in Indonesia's Aceh province alone. Sri Lanka and Thailand were severely impacted by the tsunami on December 26, 2004. Tsunami Thailand 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was an undersea earthquake that occurred at 00:58:53 UTC (07:58:53 local time) December 26, 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Surprisingly, some islands right in the middle of the tsunami were not badly affected. It turns out their atolls, or coral reefs, absorbed much of the wave. The coral ridges protected them. In many regions of the Asian waters, there is a practice some fishermen use, of dynamiting the natural coral reefs to bring up fish. These barriers to the tsunami were no longer in place to deflect the water. The disaster promoted a global outpouring of sympathy, with governments, individuals and corporations pledging more than $13 billion in aid. According to UN database, nearly two years after donors pledged billions to help the victims only half the money had been spent. Of the half a million people left homeless by the disaster, only a third have been permanently rehoused. The public response to the tsunami was very untypical. A combination of events - the dramatic nature of the huge wave, its occurrence at Christmas, the size of the disaster, the fact that so many Westerners died, the availability of spectacular video footage and the extensive TV coverage that secured - meant that the global public gave far more than ever before. The money went to aid agencies that were too small to mastermind such a mammoth task. Oxfam has spent more than $280 million on disaster recovery work and is now more than three-quarters of the way through its response plan. Aid workers have helped more than 2.3 million people across seven countries to get back into their homes.Despite the outpouring of generosity from aid agencies and individuals, recipient countries say pledges by some governments have still not been honoured. The earthquake triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing more than 230,000 people in eleven countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 meters With a magnitude of between 9.1 and 9.3, it is the second largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. This earthquake had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes. It caused the entire planet to vibrate as much as 1 cm (0.5 inches) and triggered other earthquakes as far away as Alaska. The disaster is known by the scientific community as the Great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake, and is also known as the Asian Tsunami and the Boxing Day Tsunami. Thailand: 5,393 confirmed dead, 3,071 missing. Many of the missing are presumed dead. Maldives: 82 dead, 26 missing. Sri Lanka, which was second hardest hit by the catastrophe, stood at 30,957, according to the Centre for National Operations. The number of people listed as missing was 5637. In India, the official death toll was 10,749 with 5640 still reported missing and feared dead. The latest disaster to hit Asia, Cyclone Nargis struck May 2008, bringing winds of up 120mph and flooding to the badly affected Irrawaddy Delta region, Burma Myanmar. The cyclone had left twice as many people vulnerable as the 2004 Asian tsunami.

John F. Kennedy The Man and The President 1917-1963
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 -- November 22, 1963), also referred to as John F. Kennedy, Jack Kennedy or JFK, was the thirty-fifth President of the United States. In 1960 he became the youngest person ever to be elected as President of the United States, and the second youngest, after Theodore Roosevelt, to serve. Kennedy served from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. The Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Space Race, the American Civil Rights Movement and early events of the Vietnam War took place during his presidency. Kennedy's leadership as commander of USS PT-109 during Second World War in the South Pacific, in which he swam with an injured shipmate to a nearby island after his ship had been split in two by a Japanese gunboat attack, turned his sights toward public service. Kennedy represented the state of Massachusetts as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953 and in the U.S. Senate from 1953 until his inauguration in 1961. Kennedy, 43, the Democratic candidate in the 1960 presidential election, defeated Republican candidate Richard Nixon, 47, in one of the closest presidential elections in American history. Though the youngest person ever elected U.S. president, he was not the youngest ever to hold the office. In 1901, Vice President Theodore Roosevelt, age 42, was elevated to the post following the assassination of President William McKinley. Kennedy is the most recent of elected U.S. presidents from outside the Sun Belt, and also the most recent to be elected while serving in the Senate. He is, to date, the only practicing Roman Catholic to be elected U.S president. He was also the first 20th century-born president. President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, United States. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with the crime, but was himself murdered two days later by Jack Ruby before Oswald could be put on trial. The Warren Commission concluded that Oswald had acted alone in killing the president. However, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded in 1979 that there may have been a conspiracy. The entire subject remains controversial, with multiple theories about the assassination still being debated. The assassination itself proved to be a defining moment in U.S. history due to its traumatic impact on the psyche of the nation and the ensuing political fallout, which continues to influence the temperament of American society. Many regarded President Kennedy as an icon of American hopes and aspirations; he continues to rate highly in public opinion rankings of former US presidents.

WW2 - Invasion of Greece and Yugoslavia
Balkans Campaign The entry of Greece into the war was assured by Mussolini on May 5th 1940, when Italian troops garrisoned in Albania launched an invasion through the mountains of North-western Greece. Though small and inadequately equipped, the Greek army inflicted a series of crushing defeats on the Italians driving them back through the mountains and over the border into Albania. By mid January 1941, after a series of stunning counteroffensives, the Greeks had crossed the Albanian frontier and driven the Italians from the southernmost quarter of the country. The humiliation of Italy infuriated Hitler who had long opposed Mussolini's Balkan ambitions, and had planned to secure peace in the region through diplomacy. These plans had now become untenable. The attack on Greece had driven that country into the arms of Britain, and brought British troops back onto the continent of Europe. The security of Greece and the Balkans had become a priority for Hitler. Since the Autumn of 1940 he had been preparing in secret for an invasion of the Soviet Union in the Spring of 1941. To secure the flank of his offensive a German conquest of Greece had now become inevitable. A coup in Yugoslavia on March 26th and the subsequent defection of that country from the axis required that it too be conquered. On April 6th the campaign began with attacks on Greece and Yugoslavia from Austria, Hungary, Rumania and Bulgaria. Code-named 'Operation Punishment' , the invasion of Yugoslavia was supported by air attacks on Belgrade which lasted almost uninterrupted for two days. As the Axis troops drove relentlessly towards the capital, the Luftwaffe attacked vital centres and installations disrupting communications and defences. The attack was quickly joined by Italian offensives across the Italian-Yugoslav border and from Albania. Under such weight of arms Yugoslav resistance began to falter. Within a week of the offensive Belgrade had fallen. In the air offensive on the capital 17,000 civilians had been killed, the city centre reduced to rubble. By April 17th the last units of the Yugoslav army had surrendered. The campaign in Yugoslavia had been an unqualified success for the Wehrmacht. At a cost of 151 killed and less than 400 wounded, the Germans had taken more than a quarter of a million prisoners. But the conquest of Yugoslavia was to prove merely the first act in a long drama of resistance. The defection of the Balkan state from his system of Alliances, Hitler had taken as a personal slight. His savage vengeance shocked the Yugoslavs and drove many to seek refuge in the mountainous interior of the country. Within weeks of the German occupation partisan units had begun to be forged and the nucleus of a partisan army established. In the South, the Greeks put up stiffer resistance. Invading from Bulgaria, the Germans were held for three days at the fortifications of the Metaxas line. But on the 9th of April, despite heroic Greek resistance and heavy casualities on both sides, the Germans broke through the lines capturing Salonika and cutting off 70,000 Greek troops in Eastern Thrace. West of the Mataxas line armoured and mechanised units of the German 12th Army, including the elite, mechanised S.S. Leibstandarte Division crossed into Greece from Yugoslavia and began a rapid encirclement of the Greek 1st Army in Albania. With most of the Greek forces cut off or captured, all that stood between the advancing axis divisions and Athens were the 70,000 troops of the British Expeditionary force. Hopelessly outmatched, the British were driven Southwards fighting a series of desperate rearguard actions, most notably at the passes of Thermopilae and Thebes. By April 27th the Germans had reached Athens and raised the swastika over the ancient heart of the city. In the ports of the Peloponese to the South-West, the British had begun reenbarking and, despite repeated attacks from the air, the evacuation from Greece was largely successful. By May 1st 51,000 troops had been rescued at the cost of four transports and two destroyers. But the campaign had been a setback for Britain. Unable to affect the outcome of the conflict, the British had been shocked by the energy and efficiency of the German advance. Vital equipment had had to be abandoned in the rout, and, although less than a thousand British soldiers lost their lives in battle, more than 7,000 were left behind and captured. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greco-Italian_War http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_of_Yugoslavia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Greece
